I was raised in Hong Kong and moved to the US in 1985, where I attended the Woodside Priory high school located in Portola Valley, California.  Following high school I attended Stanford University, where I graduated with distinction in Biological Sciences and Economics in 1991.   

I enjoy the sunny weather here so much that I decided to stay in the Bay Area after college and attended UCSF for my dental education, where I also met my future wife Dr. Sheila Tan.  And soon after graduation from dental school in 1995, I attended Boston University for my post-doctoral training in Dental Implantology.  Since my graduation, I have further my training in all aspects of dentistry through numerous continuing education courses and trainings.  Currently, I am an active member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). 

My practice is now focused on reconstructive and implant dentistry.  I am also an inventor who holds six US patents in this related field.  One of my patented inventions, thermoplastic drill template for implant surgery, is licensed worldwide to Straumann AG based in Switzerland.

In my spare time, I enjoy tennis, swimming and hiking with my friends and family.  I am also an active member of my local church in Milpitas, and together with my wife Sheila, have participated in volunteering and overseas missions trips in the past.
